SUITS, KALE & SUPERMAN

Now if you’ve read my creepy bit on my love for suits, I’m a bit short for words as to how to introduce this outfit. OH BUT WAIT.

It’s the same drill but this outfit particularly demonstrates how suits are getting cooler and cooler, with an obvious sharper edge.

Far from the formal concept of an ever so simple blazer and its matching peg trousers, suits are getting an identity of their own. Think of trainers for instance, if you grew up in the 90s and before, remember how simple and practical they used to be. If you were not into basketball, your feet would have to mingle with the simplest sport apparel, not that you’d have a care in the world, as they were merely saved for sporty occasions anyway, and would rarely make it to festive or formal occasions.

And it’s true that the Stan Smith, Converse and the rest of their gang, are as cool as kale now, but remember how much more simpler they appeared to us back in the days. But now, sneakers (shout out to my US readers) have earned a top seat of their own in the fashion think tank – their designs are far more creative, colourful, sexier and bossier than they used to be. Well, we’re definitely witnessing the same change with suits at the moment!

I love this Lavish Alice number, the wrap waist of the trousers and the frigging cool superhero cape feature of its blazer. Much much bolder and fun than your average suits, but you’re still rocking this go-get-them-all attitude. To me, this speaks louder with trainers, for the reasons aformentioned and for the sort of pun which goes with the whole outfit: check me out looking all smart and fiery in my suit, oh and sorry you were expecting complimentary heels – as if I could care. And if you didn’t get the message at this stage, the lightening bolts on my t-shirt are my PG way to tell you what’s what.

All in all, this outfit is very much what I want for 2015: stand here expecting things from me mate, I’m long gone (insert another reference to the superman cape – check) and I’m doing my own thing.

See you when I see you,

Frankie x
