HOOD, GIGGLES & GRINS
How is it September already, I have no idea!
I’m off for a whole month of holiday (whooop) but I’m already prepared for the Autumn season (Fall for my U.S darlings). Autumn just brings back my favourite colours in town, be it hues of bottle green, navy blue, burnt orange, you stop minding the shorter days after the little while. But the transition is a tricky one, you’re still in Pimm’s, Aperol and summer mode and it got your legs all bare and smoothly shaved, but you’re very tempted to wrap your shoulders in a checked knit. I got you dahling, I got you.
Last year, the solution appeared in the shape of a pair of over-the-knee boots. I had given it a try and they quickly went back to their sender. The pair I got was way too sexy for me. You might not believe me because I’m all giggles and grins, but I tend to be subtle, even on other days than Sundays. I love sexy, but when it’s down played, when you’re not even too sure that it’s the vibe I went for; think of a loose cleavage, or a pair of skinny jeans paired with mansy brogues for example.
However, I’m not one to give up, I knew I’d eventually make knee-high boots work for me. I guess I was simply to hung up on their old image, but this Ted & Muffy pair changed my mind for the best!
These ones are adjusted to my calves, when you order them you need your shoe size and your calf size. A baggy over-the-knee boot is rarely a good look! I’m obviously really down with my suede this season, so this pair was an easy sale! They’re only new but that have many more cool pairs, if over-the-knee is too much for you, they have knee-high and ankle boots too.
I went for an all suede errthang theme, clashing these colours I was telling you about above. I threw a bit of a fringe and faux fur, as a warm up for the weather I’ll be going home to in a month. And if you’ve ever heard of Nottingham, you might want to call me Freddie Hood just now. Well go ahead, you know I never mind a persona 😉
