If there’s something I love about England it’s definitely its Christmas parties. But because there’s always the day after (and the day after the day after), there’s been loads of laziness piling up at Frankie HQ. Mehhh, be merry they said.
Let’s keep this party spirit people. I have a soft spot for sequins at the moment, probably because I’ve been brainwashed by the magazines and catwalks but a bit of sequin in one’s wardrobe at this time of the year should definitely wake up the party animal that sleeps inside of you, should you have been getting too cosy with Christmas24 TV channel (we know that you’ve been right on it, it’s the new sh*t).
My only problem is that the combo afro + sequins makes me look like a bloody disco ball and since the 80s are fare gone now, I had to go for the light-coloured ones. No gold, no silver,
no nada. (but check my selection below!)
As you should know by now, I’m not a massive fan of the total girly look. Too easy. I save it for some nights out though. Tight disco pants, the right black body and you fill the sexy girl brief quickly and neatly. But come on, you’ve been there already.
So sequins it is but with a cropped knit jumper to tone the shiny fellas down. I love how the top and the skirt have the exact same colours but different shapes.
Those peep toe boots are my new faves, you have to try them on to understand. Gosh they make me feel good! They’re proper Diva, they will not give in easily and they will probably dig into your ankles the 1st couple of times you wear them but if you show you’re in for the long run, they’ll make your wait worth it.
Now rock on those sequins and be merry cause Santa’s on his way my friend!

Now there’s nothing ground breaking in what’s coming but you have to be more creative during winter. That’s what it does to us. It’s too tempting to go bonkers with the layers and leave the house like you’re off to Val d’Isère. Not that there’s anything wrong with it but if dress becomes a dirty word for you when December comes(and if you’re not sure if wearing 2 sweaters and 3 pairs of leggings is a good look), I have an idea for you: just raid the oversized jumpers section.
This oversized jumper is 5 sizes too big and is cheaper than a dress, simply because it’s a jumper. You have to choose it very big (and not fluffy) if you don’t want people to give up their seats to you on the tube, for no
apparent reason. I love a total black look because it adds more glam, no matter what you’re wearing and glam can be a challenge when wearing a jumper 5 sizes too big. Just sayin’.
Pop up the colours with some lipstick, jewellery or accessories like these pied-de-poule (houndstooth) socks I got from Topshop for more playfulness and pair the whole outfit with a pair of biker boots, Doc Martens or Converse trainers because we know you’re badass like that (and if you’re clumsy like me, never mind the ladders when wearing tights. We said badass, didn’t we?!)
The bottom line is, my friend, quit the layers, just dress bigger!
Have a wicked week 😉
Now a few suggestions fo’ ya:
Oh my. Do you remember those shoes I basically stole from Topshop a couple of weeks ago? Well I just can’t get over their pretty face. I find myself dancing Beyoncé-single-ladies style in my PJs in my living room quite often now. It’s needless to say that we got that thing you guys desperately look for when browsing Tinder! Love is in the heels (that’s so lame, I love it!)
But I find them a bit Kim Kardashian like (no offence to be taken there Kim but you know..), you can easily look too much in your face in them so I tried to style them with a low key outfit cause they’re the Lead. Remember Carmit Bachar and Jessica Sutta? You don’t, cause Nicole Sherzinger was the star of the Pussycat Dolls and you wouldn’t want the rest of the band to steal the show. Plus, who wants to remember 6 names?! (speaking of Nicky, could I get that dress please?). Now I’m not sure why I’m taking the PD as an example. X-factor? Eeek, don’t get me started on that, I want to squeeze this little Nicholas till he pops :D! But anyhow, you got my point! Loud stilettos and quiet outfit.
And when I say quiet I should probably add really cheap. I got that shirt from a clearance at ASOS and I think it used to be pastel pink but my washing machine (or my poor washing skills – you choose) somehow decided that whatever-colour-it-is-now was a better colour. As for the jeans, I got them from a thrift store where they sell clothes by the bag – they basically cost me next to nothing!
Never mind the price tag, those shoes do everything! Check me out posing like a diva – I just couldn’t help it! I told you they were babes 🙂
