Urgh. Been ages again, another failed attempt to be strict with the blog I guess. To be honest, I’ve quite worked myself up about this but the new job is really tiring and I’ve been busy being lazy after long work ing days and redecorating the flat (eek! You know you’re ageing when the idea of new cushions sends you to cloud 9). Don’t yawn just yet, it could have been more boring.
Back to business. The NY and London Fashion Weeks are over now and I wanted to do a little round-up of all the looks I loved and all the inspiration it gave me. But Milan and Paris are still yet to start/finish and I’m really excited to see what my hometown (Paris then) is going to deliver this year! So bear with me on that one, it will be my 1st attempt at collage/photos curation, another big step (!) I’m making in the Fashion Blogging industry. You’ve been prepared! (Btw, I’ve just started using Pinterest again, the link’s on the right)
Anyway. The new punk trend we’re seeing this autumn (it’s official now, I want to cry) has given me inspiration for this look. This really old t-shirt has been hanging in my draw for a while now, I think it belonged to one of my ex (even if the boy refuses to admit to himself that I had a life before him – I mean I’m a catch, right?) , well we all steal stuff from the boys (I do). I found this fairy-like lacy skirt on ASOS last year (but it’s from a brand called Jovonnista) and to tone it down a little and to avoid that girly-gooey effect, I thought it’d look wicked with a biker jacket, some leather boots and this t-shirt with Keith Richards looking badass – as usual. Now get this sort of car park with empty Walkers bags and empty Lucozade bottles as a shoot location and you’re ready to rock that bad motherf*cker style attitude!
Have a lovely week people!
Wow. I’m only a newbie at blogging and I’m already being bad at it. It’s been ages since I posted but, in my defense, I’ve just left a job and started a new one. So just trying to settle in really. Plus the summer quit like a coward and the rain is so so not afro and picture friendly (it means we don’t like you, just leave already!).
Indoor shoot it is then.
Do you remember when
everyone (basically a handful of people, I just love being dramatic) was going on about how this all-denim-everythang thing was for losers? Well I love it, splash a bright lipstick (again) and some crazy heels (standard) on it and be guaranteed to be the coolest ranger in town (courtesy to the almighty Chuck Norris who launched the all denim trend before denim was even invented! D’you follow the joke? Meh, never mind.).
Those shoes are MAD! I think I actually bought them so they would look cool in my wardrobe (don’t judge, they were on sale. Plus I have the same in black and yellow, fo’ real) but I find myself wearing them sometimes and they’re super comfy when tightly tied up – I tripped once and I’m glad I still have a face to say the least!
And what about the huge come back of the dungarees? I used to think that my mom was sabotaging me when sending me to school in a pair of these (but everyone would wear them so don’t be surprised when I say I still managed to make a few friends at lunch break). They would look like you had sh*t yourself but eh, a ranger with bowels problem is the coolest look I could think of this week!
I bought them at the awesome East End Thrift Store in Stepney Green where you basically buy clothes by the bag (£10 or £20 depending on the size) so they cost me next to nothing!
Anyway, I can hardly wait for tomorrow night! I hope you guys will enjoy your weekend, I know I will 🙂
Floral. Denim. You already know my ultimate booty calls. They’re always in the background – it’s actually quite a commitment now.
But those shoes. Those shoes, people. The pictures don’t do them much justice but I call them the Foxies. I just need to slip my feet in them and Beyonce goes and hides her legs backstage. Strong legs then, and looong (6 endless inches but the platforms keep your dignity intact when running to catch your tube).
Shoulder pads are also on my speed dial and what I love about them is that you can wear anything with them and you’ll still have this classy sleek look. Hence the ripped off boyfriend jeans and this vest shopped in the menswear section. I tend to shop a lot in the men’s section, give it a go cause the boys seem to get quite a lot these days, and we can’t have them looking better than us, can we ladies?!
